Disability
SPORTS INCLUSION FESTIVAL 2007

On Friday 4th May, 60 pupils from special schools/units within our partnership attended a sports festival at Durrington High School. Under the watchful eyes of coaches, Chichester University students and Junior Sports Leaders pupils from Palatine, Oakgrove, Connaught and Angmering, pupils participated in a carousel of activities; football, basketball, cricket and tennis.

Pupils displaying more aesthetic qualities attended a dance workshop during the festival and prepared a piece to perform at the end of the afternoon. During the morning pupils were visited by the Mayor of Worthing and enjoyed the additional help with their cricketing skills from international Zimbabwe cricketer Henry Olonga.

All in all an enjoyable day, which culminated in presentation of certificates and an excellent dance performance by the students. Thanks to everyone involved from those who made coffee to those who drank it! Ali Groves
